Updated UK postcode data

I’ve updated the UK postcode data on my website to use the February 2021 ONS release. It’s passed my usual sanity checks but if you see anything amiss, let me know.

Hey thanks for this Chris,

I used your previous versions, to verify postcodes on my company's customer database.

If you have a chance, do you know how often to Royal Mail or Ordinance Survey update this?

ie: if a new block of flats get built, do they get an all-new postcode or might use the code from the building that used to be there.

Hey
really appreciate you building this, do you know how often Royal Mail or Ordinance Survey update this?

I'd like to know are there often many all-new postcodes produced, ie: for new builds of houses, etc. As wondering how often should database administrators expect to update these datasets.

cheers

I get my data from the ONS who update it every 3 months. I think the Royal Mail produce monthly updates

Regarding new postcodes, I think it depends on the situation. New postcodes are created fairly regularly (e.g. a green field housing estate), but old postcodes are re-used (sometimes at new locations) and new buildings may be assigned an existing postcode (e.g a new house in an existing street)
